We are currently looking for a Canteen Assistant to join our team!

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our canteen facilities during events, matches, and training sessions.

Responsibilities Include:

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Handle payments, process transactions, and provide receipts as needed.
  • Food Preparation and Service:
  • Prepare and serve a variety of food items, including snacks, sandwiches, burgers, and hot meals, according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation meet the club’s standards and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised food preparation area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.

 

Beverage Service:

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages (if applicable), following all legal regulations and age restrictions.
  • Monitor and restock beverage inventory, including cups, lids, straws, and condiments.

 

Cleanliness and Hygiene:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen area, including food preparation surfaces, equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
  • Follow proper sanitation procedures, including washing hands regularly, using gloves when handling food, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing food and beverage deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and report any shortages or discrepancies to the Manager.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with inventory reconciliation.

 

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other canteen staff members, volunteers, and supervisors to ensure efficient operation and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to coordinate orders and ensure timely service.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service roles is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a valid food handler’s certificate.
