Brisbane City Football Club would like to inform all members, players, and supporters that Dean Gregory has resigned as Director of Football & FQ Academy as he has accepted an opportunity overseas to further his professional coaching career.

Dean joined Brisbane City FC in 2020 as our Junior Football Director and Head of SAP. He has been instrumental in his role leading Junior teams’ technical staff and programs relating to coach education and player development. Dean recently was appointed the Director of Football and Head of FQ Academy.

Club President, Robert Rossi said, “Dean has been an asset to City’s growth over the last three years and I would like to thank Dean for his excellent work, particularly in running the SAP and Academy programs, I have no doubt his next adventure will be a great success”.

“Dean will always be part of the City family.”

On departure, Dean expressed his gratitude to the board, supporters and players.

“To the board, I will be forever grateful for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a great club. To the coaches, volunteers and parents for your continued commitment and support of the program and club.”

“Finally, thank you to all the players I have worked with over the last three years, you have been a pleasure to coach. I wish you all the best for the future and will be keeping a close eye on your development from afar.”

As a club, it is promising to see the development of not only our players but our coaches too. City has provided career pathways for coaches to the Roar, Football Queensland and International Clubs.

On behalf of the board, and the club we wish Dean all the best with his next chapter.

We have commenced succession planning for the Director of Football & Head of FQ Academy role and talking with national and international candidates to support and build on our current successful programs across FQ Academy. Further announcements will be released in the coming weeks.
