Our NPL Women are back in Kappa Queensland Cup action on Tuesday night as they take on Capalaba Bulldogs in a Quarter Final showdown at John Fredericks Park.
City progressed to the final eight with a pair of strong performances, defeating Sunshine Coast Wanderers 1-0 before a young lineup secured a convincing 4-0 win over Souths United at Imperial Corp Stadium. They come into this fixture in confident form, having also recorded a 4-0 win over Gold Coast United in the league on Saturday.
Capalaba’s Cup run has included a 6-0 win over Narangba Eagles and a 6-4 result away to Virginia United. Despite an initial loss in their most recent outing, the Bulldogs were later awarded the win after Lions were found to have fielded an ineligible player.
Capalaba are currently second on the FQPL1 ladder and enter Tuesday night’s game with an undefeated league record of seven wins and one draw from their opening eight matches.
The match will be the first meeting between the two sides in 2025 and marks an intriguing cross-division encounter, with a spot in the Semi Finals on the line.
Tuesday’s game kicks off at 7:30pm at John Fredericks Park and will be live streamed on FQTV and the Football Queensland YouTube channel.
