Brisbane City FC is thrilled to announce the newest addition to its technical team, Joseph Cunnane, who will assume the role of Football Development Officer. Joe will be collaborating closely with the Director of Football, Jake Goodship, in nurturing and enhancing the skills of young talents within the club.

In a statement regarding his appointment, Joe expressed his deep passion for football, tracing back to his early years in West London where he first engaged with organised football at QPR’s community Saturday sessions. His journey continued in Australia, playing as a junior at Olympic FC and later contributing to notable clubs like Eastern Suburbs FC and Newmarket Football Club.

Reflecting on his playing highlights, Joe reminisced about his school football days, notably participating in the St. Laurence’s College First XI and achieving victory over Terrace to advance to the Uhlsport Cup Final.

With a wealth of experience spanning over six years in coaching within South East Queensland, Joe brings a dedicated and hardworking approach to player development. His emphasis on refining the technical aspects of the game aligns with his belief that this area represents a significant opportunity for growth in Australian football.

Joe has an impressive coaching track record, including founding his private coaching business in 2020 (formerly Cunnane 1on1 Football Training), serving as the Lead Youth Development Phase Coach at Brisbane City Football Club, and taking on roles such as FQ Academy Director/Coach at Eastern Suburbs Football Club, Head Coach at St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, and Lead Coach for Brisbane Boys College Year 9 (U14/15).

His commitment to professional growth is evident through his completion of multiple licenses and certifications, including the FFA/AFC B Licence, FFA/AFC C Youth Licence, FFA/AFC C Senior Licence, and possessing a Blue Card.

Jake Goodship, Director of Football at Brisbane City FC, expressed enthusiasm about the addition of Joe Cunnane to the technical team, stating, “Joe’s passion for football and his extensive coaching experience make him a valuable asset to our team. We look forward to working together to enhance the skills and talents of our young players.”

Brisbane City FC welcomes Joe Cunnane to the club and anticipates a successful collaboration in fostering the growth and development of its junior players.
